[ return to Get Involved page ] EcoSchools Ontario EcoSchools provides curriculum-based resources for schools and encourages the school community toward sustainability by promoting reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, aligning class-based learning with school operations and encourages schools to find innovative ways to conserve resources and reduce their impact on the environment. To become an Ontario Certified EcoSchool, a school must demonstrate leadership and achievement in at least four priority areas: energy conservation, waste reduction, ecological literacy and school ground greening.
