Come get your free compost and make your garden happy. This high quality compost was produced using Green Bin materials from Durham Region residents. Bring a shovel and container. Purchase plants and get friendly gardening advice at the annual plant sale from the Pickering Horticultural Society.

Plant a Flower to Bring home for mom and lend a green thumb to the Pickering Blooms Children’s Garden, plus mom’s and grandma’s swim free when accompanied by a child. Flowers while quantities last.

Annual Heritage, Native & Perennial Plant Sale
This annual plant sale will run alongside the Steam Up Event; which features live pioneers in 15 heritage buildings, tonnes of hands on activity and our fully operational steam barn and equipment. The Museum will also unveil a new exhibit at the Museum during this event - be sure to join us.
Pickering Museum Village
  Enter the Garden Showcase! Residents, Schools, Businesses, Organizations, Youth and Families are invited to apply. If you would like your garden to be reviewed by our volunteer horticultural experts in the adult, youth or family category enroll in the Garden Mentorship program. Mentorship registration is due the second Monday in June. Application forms are available online, in City facilities or by calling Customer Care.  
  Pitch in Parties
Gather your neighbours, family, workplace, school or association and donate some time to cleaning up a local greenspace, creek, trail or neighbourhood. Garbage bags, gloves and pickup is provided. Call 905.420.4660 ext. 2043 for information.
 
  Eyes on the Street
Help Keep Pickering beautiful. If you see an area or an item that has been targeted with graffiti, illegal dumping, litter or vandalism, contact the City to report the incident and its location. To make a report contact Customer Care  at 1.877.420.4666 or

  Adopt a Park
Residents, schools, organizations, clubs, businesses and industries can help enhance their local environment by adopting a park. Participants in this program keep the adopted park area clean of litter and are to report any maintenance, vandalism or safety issues to the City.
