Construction of Garbage & Recycling Barrels
 2007

Dunbarton High School students help out.

With the assistance of students from Dunbarton High School, the City recycles steel barrels from a local factory and converts them into garbage and recycling cans. They are built with locking lids to deter illegal dumping of household waste and to prevent litter from migrating out of them during windy days. The construction of the recycling cans was implemented by the Parks Department to provide the sport user groups with the opportunity to recycle plastic water bottles at our busier sports fields. We are continually expanding this program as new units are built.
