| Durham Region is home to large
tracts of prime agricultural land and is one of Ontario's
leading agricultural producers. Pickering is proud to
contribute to that sector. About two-thirds of our total land
area - about 37,560 acres - is rural. We're home to a variety
of farms, including dairy, field crop, sod, berries, apple,
beef, greenhouse, tree and horse farms.
