The Study will
produce sustainability performance measures,
benchmarks and a monitoring program as input to the
neighbourhood plans and to allow ongoing assessment of
the Central Pickering Development Plan's success at
achieving sustainability.

Performance
measures shall include benchmarks for the following:
- Energy conservation;
- Building and community design;
- Cultural heritage conservation;
- Accessibility for the disabled;
- Air quality;
- Human health promotion; and
- Environmental net gain.
The performance measures shall be established by
the City, in consultation with landowners and other
interested stakeholders, shall be incorporated into
the neighbourhood plans.
The Provincial Seaton
Implementation Plan is also identifying sustainability
baselines and targets.
