How do I
contact the City of Pickering in the event of a road emergency in
the evening or on a weekend?

The City of Pickering has an after hours road emergency phone number
- 905.683.4319. This number is answered live 24 hours a day, 7 days
a week. If the request for information is not an emergency, you can email
our office at any time. A response will be sent to you by return email or by phone if requested the next business day.

Can I have my
driveway entrance widened or have a driveway entrance installed?
- The City of Pickering owns the easement, approx. 3 meters from your
property line to the road. Therefore it is our responsibility to
provide and maintain this driveway entrance. If you would like to
have your curb cut to widen the entrance to your driveway or have a
driveway entrance installed on your property, please contact the
Municipal Property & Engineering Division during normal business
hours or by email
at anytime. You will be requested to mark the curb indicating the
extent of curb cut required or clearly stake the area you are
requesting for an entrance. An inspector will visit your property
and advise you regarding the price and feasibility.

What can I do
if I notice a streetlight that is not working?

us at anytime. Please give us a description of the location of the
streetlight or the number on the pole. We will be pleased to pass
this information onto the proper authority.

Where can I
find information regarding garbage pickup, large item pickup, missed
pickups and recycling?
- The Region of Durham is
responsible for collection, processing, and final disposal
of Garbage, Recycling, Yard Waste, and Large Items from
within the City of Pickering. Please visit the Region of

Can I utilize
City of Pickering parks for a personal events or sports tournaments
during the summer season?
- Yes, our parks are available to the public for personal events. You
can call our Municipal Property & Engineering Division at 905.420.4630 for more information.

Where is the
City of Pickering's Operations Centre, and what services are offered
at that location?
- The Municipal Operations Centre is located
at 2570 Tillings Road (view map).

Am I allowed to
build or plant anything on the boulevard in front of my property?
- The City of Pickering discourages residents from building or
planting on City property. The boulevard area (approx. 3 m from the
road) is where most services are buried including gas, water,
telephone, cable and hydro. If an excavation is required, any
plantings or structures such as a fence will be removed. The City of
Pickering is not obligated to replace any plantings or structures on
our boulevard.
