Pickering Welcomes Chinese Delegation

The City of Pickering was pleased to host a delegation this spring from Yongchuan City, China. Following a presentation about our community, City staff and the Mayor took visitors on a sightseeing tour that highlighted many of our city’s attributes.

“The visit provided a unique opportunity to learn more about one another’s cities and to share experiences,” says Mayor David Ryan.

“I look forward to continued cooperation between Yongchuan and Pickering on many important issues, particularly economic development. I believe our friendship will be mutually beneficial to each of our cities.”

Mayor Ryan and the Chairman of the Chinese delegation signed a Friendship City Agreement that will serve as the foundation of a business relationship.
