"This building will help meet
the growing needs of Pickering Nuclear, while consolidating
staff," said Brian MacTavish, Site Vice President, Pickering
Nuclear. "It will serve as a primary records retention center,
while also providing state-of-the-art conference and meeting
facilities."
In keeping with OPG's commitment to
the environment, the new building will utilize energy efficient
light sensors and Co2 ventilation controls. Recycle bins will also
be integrated into the plans for each floor and the grounds will be
landscaped with a friendly eye to the environment.
DesignE Inc., of Toronto, designed
the interior office space with Internorth Construction Company
handling the general contractor role for owner and developer Forum
Leasehold Partners Inc.
"We're pleased to be a part of
this exciting project," said Richard Abboud, President, Forum
Leasehold Partners. "777 Brock Road will be a high quality
building that we trust will serve OPG and its people will for many
years to come."
OPG has entered into a 20-year lease
on the property and expects to move in this fall.
