Ontario Power Generation Expansion

A ground-breaking ceremony took place at Ontario Power Generation's Eastern Nuclear Training Centre (675 Sandy Beach Road and Montgomery Park Road) on Friday, October 5, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. This initiated the construction of approximately 79,400 square feet of new space at the building.

Included in the new addition will be a three-storey administration tower of 47,000 square feet (offices, meeting rooms, classrooms and a study area).

Ontario Power Generation's Training Support and Services Division is recognized as a world leader in the field of leadership and management training for the nuclear power industry. Leadership and Management Training courses are essential for the safe and effective operation of CANDU utilities.

There will be a total of 241 full time Training Support and Services Division staff working at the Eastern Nuclear Training Centre. The building is designed with special care for the environment, ergonomics, energy efficiency, sustainable energy development and user friendly features.
