 Animal Services is
committed to reuniting all lost pets with their owners. In cases where this is not possible, the pet is placed up for
adoption, in hopes of finding a new and loving home. Animals available for
adoption can be viewed on our adoption photo page.
Adoption Fees are as follows:
- Adopt a cat $100.00
- Adopt a dog $150.00
Debit, Visa and MasterCard are
accepted forms of payment
 The adoption fee includes the
following:
- The initial set of vaccinations
- Free 30 day trial of shelter care
pet insurance
- Free City of Pickering Animal
Licence
- Microchipping and deworming of
animals

Sterilization of animals before adoption
Although every effort is made to
ensure that all animals are spayed/neutered before adoption, it is
not always possible. In situations where cats/kittens are too young
to be sterilized, a $75.00 rebate certificate is provided for owners
who bring in proof of alteration within 120 days from the date of
adoption.

If you are interested in adopting
an animal from us, we advise you to do the following:
- Visit the Animal
Shelter and complete an "Adoption Application Form".
- Once at the shelter we advise that
you spend time with the animal to see if he/she will be a good
fit for your lifestyle. Speak with the staff as they are very
knowledgeable, and know the personality of each animal.
- Meet with shelter staff to discuss
care and nutrition for the new pet.
- Enjoy the new member of your
family!
