By-law Guide for Pickering Residents
PARKING
Overview
The City’s Traffic & Parking
By-law 6604/05, as amended, is in place to ensure responsible parking which maintains
safe conditions for pedestrians and traffic, and accommodates
traffic flow.
What you should know…
The Traffic & Parking By-law is
actively enforced at all times by a team of Parking Control
Officers. Vehicle parking is limited to a maximum of three hours
on all City streets unless otherwise posted. During
snow-clearing operations, vehicles are not permitted to park on
City streets or highways. Fines for parking infractions can
range from $25.00 to $300.00. If you receive a parking ticket,
it is in your best interest to choose one of the options
provided within the timeframe indicated. Should you do nothing,
you will automatically be convicted, and the fines will continue
to increase as the ticket progresses to plate denial.
The City does accept requests for
parking consideration from the 3 hour maximum, for special
circumstances such as out-of-town guests, driveway repairs, or
special occasions. Requests must be submitted in advance, and
should include the address, date(s) required, and the make,
model and plate information for the vehicles concerned.
To make a request for parking
consideration or express a concern regarding vehicle parking,
please email bylaw@cityofpickering.com or contact our Customer
Care Centre at 905.683.7575.
