Opportunities
The City of Pickering will accept employment applications on an on-going basis. Applications are retained on file for a period of six (6) months, and should a position become available for which an applicant may be qualified, applications are forwarded to the hiring department for consideration. Available positions are advertised on the City's website and in the Durham Region and City of Toronto newspapers. HOW TO APPLY FOR A POSITION WITH THE CITY OF PICKERING All applications for employment must be accompanied by a detailed resume or a completed Employment Application Form, stating the title of the position of interest. Effective January 04, 2010, a decision has been made to change Pickering Fire Services from a composite Fire Service to a full-time career Fire Service. The City of Pickering does not have any full-time Firefighter vacancies at this time. SEASONAL HIRING FOR STUDENT POSITIONS City of Pickering 2010 March & Summer Student Positions The deadline to submit applications for 2010 March Break and Summer Student positions has passed. If you are a student and still wish to apply, please note that applications received on or before January 11, 2010 will be considered first. Applications received by the Human Resources Division after January 11, 2010 will only be considered if there are no suitable applicants from those who applied prior to the deadline.
