Mayor’s Light Tour
Pickering, ON, December 21, 2010 –
Congratulations to the Williams Family!
The annual Mayor’s Light Tour took place on Wednesday, December
15 and was a huge success. The City of Pickering, in
partnership with Durham Region Transit, hosted over 300 adults,
55+, and toured them through our City streets, to enjoy various
decorated homes along Pickering’s DRT Light Tour route.
During the tour, participants voted on which houses were
decorated best for this festive season, while singing carols.
For the 6th year in a row, one home was awarded the honour for
the most beautifully decorated home in the City – the plaque
will be presented to the home owners at 1285 Ilona Park Road.
Congratulations to the Williams family for a wonderful job!
This year was as close as ever, with second place going to 1289
Ilona Park Road. The participants had a difficult time
choosing between the two neighbouring homes. Third place
goes to 1241 Mulmur Crescent.
"Not only does the Mayor's Light Tour showcase Pickering's best
holiday decorated homes, it is a vibrant reminder of the
importance of custom and tradition in our lives," said Mayor
Dave Ryan. "I congratulate the Williams family and their
neighbours on Ilona Park Road, for their outstanding efforts in
helping to spread holiday cheer for our entire community's
benefit."
Route maps of the tour are available at the Pickering Recreation
Complex, Pickering Civic Complex, East Shore Community Centre,
Petticoat Creek Community Centre and online at

The Brian Rose Little Big Band performed at the Recreation
Complex during the refreshment break, following the tour, and
were well received by all.
Thank you to all those who participated in this year’s event and
we look forward to seeing you next year!
