Artfest on the Esplanade – Call to
Artists, Crafters and Performers
Pickering, ON, March 27, 2012 - Pickering sends a call for artists, crafters and
performers to participate in Artfest on the Esplanade.
The City of Pickering, in partnership with the PineRidge Arts
Council, is pleased to once again host Artfest on the Esplanade.
This one of a kind art's event will take place Saturday, May 26,
2012 from 11 am to 5 pm at Esplanade Park (behind Pickering City
Hall).
This annual outdoor Art Show & Sale is celebrating its 16th year
and will feature the work of over 80 visual artists & crafters
from across the province. The event will also feature free
performing arts at the gazebo – with live musical and dance
performances. The event will also include a free
children's art activity area, free teen art activity, artist
demonstrations and a food court provided by Canadian Progress
Club Durham Region Women. The event is truly a celebration
of the arts in Pickering.
Visual artists are invited to exhibit and sell their work at
this event. The deadline for artist registration is
Thursday, April 5, 2012. Performing artists are invited to
showcase their talents at the outdoor Gazebo. Performing
artists new to this event must include a demo tape with their
application. Performing artists are also invited to
exhibit and promote their organization. Community Dance
Studios, Choirs, Orchestra's, Drama Clubs are all welcome to
apply for an exhibit space at the event to promote their
organization. The deadline for performing artist registration
(at the gazebo and/or with an exhibit space) is also Thursday,
April 5, 2012.
