The Knight's
Quest
Behaving badly can get you into a
lot of trouble, so Sir Gawain has discovered. King Arthur has
sent him on a seemingly impossible quest to discover the answer
to the age-old question, ‘What do women want?’ The penalty
for failure is beheading! For a year and a day, he roams
the land meeting damsels and knights in distress, fights off
marauding beasts and confers with those older and wiser than he.
Will he succeed in his quest or will he be beheaded? Only you
the audience can help him reach his final answer.
Backwoods Players director Sandy
Lloyd is gearing up to present The Knight’s Quest, a
short medieval romp adapted by Julie Oakes and Angela Steyn from
Chaucer’s The Wife of Bath tale.
The Knight’s Quest will be
presented three times on Sunday May 25 during Steam Up at
Pickering Museum Village and is included in the cost of
admission. Join us as the Museum Village springs into life for a
new year.
You can also see a performance of
The Knight’s Quest during
Artfest on the
Esplanade, presented by the PineRidge Arts Council and the
City of Pickering. The event will take place Saturday, May 24
between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm at Esplanade Park in Pickering.
Pickering Museum Village is
located 3km east of Brock Road, on the south side of Hwy #7 just
west of Westney Rd., only a ten-minute drive into the past.
