Against the Wall Mural Event

On Saturday, May 5, 2007, the City of Pickering hosted the first ever Against the Wall Mural Contest. The Free event invited Pickering Teens, ages 13 to 19, to paint a mural on one of the newer walls installed at Diana, Princess of Wales Park, behind the Pickering Recreation Complex. The event brought out 9 artists in total, along with some local skate boarders and break dancing enthusiasts.

Each artist had their own space on a wall to paint, and by the end of the day there were 9 great, new pieces of art!

Prizes were awarded for first, second, third and fourth place pieces. All 9 participants received a t-shirt and the top four winners received additional prizes from PineRidge Arts Council, Tribal Gear, Switch Skate, Sonz of God clothing, S and J's and City of Pickering.
