It’s Here! It’s Now! We’ll Even Show you How…

The annual Great Paper Boat Race will be taking place at Pickering Museum Village’s Steam Up event on May 25. Boats will be launched at 1:30 pm into Duffins Creek at the Museum Village. Bring a boat, make one on site, or come and cheer on the racers!

There are three categories this year: children’s most creatively decorated boat, children’s fastest boat, and adult’s fastest boat. Boats must be registered at the Duffins Creek General Store during the event on May 25 by 1:15 pm.

Need instructions on how to make a paper boat??  Select the link below for step by step illustrated instructions. Prizes are a selection of toys from the Museum Village gift shop and are awarded for the children’s most creatively decorated boat and for the children’s fastest boat.

Steam Up is on May 25 between noon and 4:30 pm at Pickering Museum Village. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, $3 for children, and families are $18.

Pickering Museum Village is located on the south side of Highway 7, 3 km east of Brougham, just 10 quick clicks from downtown Pickering.
