Pickering Public Library opens the doors to its New Virtual Branch The Pickering Public Library is proud to announce the launch of its new web site. This is the fifth major re-design that the Library has undertaken over the past few years and, thanks to the input and support of the Pickering community, it shows many noticeable improvements over the previous versions. "The new web site is representative of the library's commitment to provide friendly and convenient service based on the evolving needs of the community, " said Cathy Grant, Director of Public Service. "The web site has eliminated many of the barriers to the Library's extensive electronic books and music collection, and has allowed staff to update content in a more timely manner. In addition, the web site has added many opportunities for clients to provide direct feedback to the Library, including comments and reviews of library collections and services. This feedback, along with the Library's commitment to service excellence, will allow the web site services to continue to evolve and improve." Within the the new web site, the Library has added several new products to its online collection, including Naxos Music Library, an exciting online collection of streaming music.
