Claremont
Celebrates 100 Years of Volunteer Firefighting
The Hamlet of Claremont will be
recognizing 100 years of volunteer firefighting in their
community with a plaque dedication ceremony as part of the
Claremont Winter Fair this weekend.

A commemorative plaque will
be unveiled recognizing 100 years of volunteer
firefighting in Claremont. The plaque is inscribed with
the names of all those known to have served as Claremont
volunteer firefighters. |

Saturday, starts with a pancake
breakfast from 8 to 10 am: $8 for adults and $6 for kids 12 and
under at the community centre. Kids three and under eat free.
The big parade follows at 11 am. Face painting, a bouncy
castle and animal balloons will highlight the free children's
carnival at the community centre following the parade. A soup
and chili contest is set to go. Sampling is $2.
All are welcome to the Saturday
night dance at the community centre at 8 pm. It's $15 per person
or $25 per couple.
