Here ye Here ye - Pickering Starz has a winner!!! On Saturday, November 18, 2006, the City of Pickering held it's 4th Annual Pickering Starz event at Petticoat Creek Community Centre. Ten Finalists competed for 5 amazing grand prizes: Kimberly Garrett, Cy James, Alannah Codrington, Hayley Brauer, Nequita Russell, Neva Fraser, Kelly Bain, Charlotte Lyon, Samantha Osei and Katerina Petrovska. The evening was filled with wonderfully talented vocalists. Awards were presented to the following Semi Finalists: Jamila Reynolds, Chelsea Young, Kendra Richards, and Cassius Crieghtny. Judges had a hard time picking the top five finalists. Fifth place went to Katerina Petrovska, fourth place was given to Kimberly Garrett, third place went to Kelly Bain, second place winner was Samantha Osei and first place was awarded to…Neva Fraser!!! The judges for the evening were Jim Morgan from Acrobat Music, Everett Ravenstein from Chalet Studios, Rena Gail, singer/songwriter, Bill Beecroft from The Bill Beecroft Orchestra, Bill McKee from the Ontario Guild of Criers and Jacquie McInnis from OPG.
