The NEW Pickering Markets - Groundbreaking News

On Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at 3:30 pm, The NEW Pickering Markets celebrated their official Groundbreaking Event.  After 28 years of temporary locations, Government officials and vendors shared in the festivities with Invar Building Corporation and Charterhall Management Group, as the bulldozers arrived to begin construction on Canada's first permanent and fully custom designed facility dedicated as a flea, antique, and farmers market.

With scheduled completion and grand opening of The NEW Pickering Markets and Trade Centre set for November 1, 2003, the excitement and anticipation is rapidly growing and vendors have responded in unprecedented fashion by leasing 70% of the available 530+ booths.

Refreshments and entertainment took place at The Pickering Markets rental office, 1739 Orangebrook Court, Pickering, after the groundbreaking festivities.
