CITY OF PICKERING
FRENCHMAN’S BAY STORMWATER
MANAGEMENT MASTER PLAN
NOTICE OF STUDY COMPLETION
The City of Pickering and the
Waterfront Coordinating Committee are dedicated to seeing the
waterfront become a place that achieves a wide range of
objectives including public use and recreation, environmental
sustainability, enhanced tourism and commercial linkages.
A Stormwater Management Master
Plan for Frenchman’s Bay and its’ contributing watersheds was
initiated by the City of Pickering and its’ consultant MMM Group
in 2006 as it was identified as a priority project in the
five-year implementation plan for Pickering’s waterfront. The
recommended Master Plan consists of a group of projects,
programs and policies designed to address issues related to
flooding, erosion and poor water quality as well as a
comprehensive restoration plan that will increase and improve
the habitat function of the Provincially Significant Wetlands
located within Frenchman’s Bay and Hydro Marsh.

The Master Plan was developed by
the City in cooperation with Toronto and Region Conservation in
accordance with the Master Planning component of the
Municipal Class Environmental Assessment, October 2000, as
amended in 2007. The Master Plan is available for review at
