Experience
Art:
The City of Pickering is committed to
furthering Arts in our community. "Experience Art" at the
Pickering Civic Complex is only one of the many ways in which we
strive to recognize local artists and bring Arts & Culture to
the community. Each year, we have a series of painters, illustrators
and photographers display their work on the walls of the Pickering
Civic Complex.

The City of Pickering, in partnership
with the PineRidge Arts Council, hosts the annual Artfest event.
This event is a one of a kind outdoor art show and sale and takes
place this year on Saturday, May 24. Over
80 artists
will gather in Pickering's Esplanade Park to showcase their artwork. The
event includes a free children's and teen art activity area -
where kids can create and take home their own art for free, includes live performing artists who can share their
talent to sing, dance and act for the crowd.
This event is a true celebration of
the arts - providing an opportunity for community artists to show
and sell their work and providing our community with a unique arts
experience.

Village Advisory Committee to present "Canadian Tapestry:
weaving the world together". This event was a celebration of
the cultures that make up this community - from the 1800's until
today. The event took place on June 13th, 2004 at the Pickering
Museum Village. Various cultural groups shared their traditions with
event visitors - by showcasing traditional food, song, dance and
stories.
