Senior of the Year Award Call for Nominations ! The City of Pickering is excited to be able to honour one local senior for their outstanding accomplishments. To be eligible for the award, the individual must be over 65 years and has enriched the social, cultural or civic life of the community. Please let us know about the nominee in one page. Nominations are due by
February 12, 2010. Submit a nomination today! About the Senior of the Year Award: Each year, municipalities across Ontario are invited by the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration to nominate one deserving Senior for the Senior of the Year Award. These awards were established in 1994 to give each municipality in the province the opportunity to honour one outstanding local senior. The City of Pickering actively participates in this award program and selects one senior from the many nominations submitted by community residents. Only the person selected for the Senior of the Year Award will be notified. The Senior of the Year is invited to a recognition ceremony in June 2010 as part of the City of Pickering's Seniors Month Celebration. |
