Break the Guitar Record
On May 27th an attempt will be made to break the World Record for the Largest Guitar Ensemble.  The previous record was set in Texas, USA in August 2009 at 1,867 guitarists.  The venue for the event is the General Motors Centre in Oshawa, Ontario.  This facility has the capacity to hold approximately 7,000 guitar players.  Event organizers are pushing to fill this arena to capacity, thus breaking the current world record. The regulations state that a song must be played in unison for 5 minutes.  The song "Takin' Care of Business" was chosen, as the rhythm section is simply played on the guitar.   The event is open to all guitar players. To learn more visit www.breaktheguitarrecord.com.
