Pickering Museum Village Honours Volunteers

On February 15, 2007, Pickering Museum Village and the City of Pickering honoured the 120 volunteers who help make the museum village come to life. Over 8393 volunteer hours were spent supporting the PMV's events, programs and artefact and reproduction maintenance. Volunteer groups at the site assist with costumed interpretation, reproduction costume creation and maintenance, heritage gardening, Gas & Steam Barn demonstrations and maintenance of equipment, theatrical performances, heritage dance demonstrations, and woodworking.

Mayor Dave Ryan and several members of Council were in attendance to present recognition pins and awards to the outstanding donation of time, effort, and knowledge these individuals have given of themselves over the last year.  Pickering Museum Village honours their volunteers annually at a Volunteer Appreciation Reception. This year's reception was held at the West Shore Community Centre.

For information on how to get involved, download an application today, and mail it to the Pickering Museum Village, c/o the City of Pickering. When you give, you get so much more back!
