Mother’s Day Tea

Enjoy a special Mother’s Day tea served in the Redman House. Tea, sandwiches, and sweets are on the menu for this special day. Every mother will receive a small keepsake.

Duffins Creek Spring Fair
Sunday, June 10
12:00 pm – 4:30 pm
Entertainers, music, wagon rides, kids activities and a steam show are all part of this heritage fair set in our quaint pioneer village.  Backwoods Players presents “A Wolf’s Tale”.  Plant sale by Bloomers & Britches.  Enter the 2nd Annual Beard and Moustache Competition with a heritage twist!  Visit online to  register pickering.ca/museum.

Whodunit? Murder Under the Big Top
July 14, 15, 21 and 22
Doors Open at 5 pm
Show starts at 5:30 pm
A circus train has broken down on the outskirts of town during the Great Depression, and the locals are drawn into the mayhem, mischief and murder that ensues.  Backwoods Players presents this interactive murder mystery as a fundraiser for the Pickering Museum Village Foundation. 
Tickets go on sale June 15. 
$50 each for dinner and show. 
$25 for the show only on July 22.
Doors open at 5:00 pm and show starts at 5:30 pm.

A Spirit Walk
September 14, 15, 21, and 22, 2012
September 13 and 20, 2012 (students only)
Honour the memory of local rebels as we celebrate the 175th anniversary of the Rebellion of 1837.  Join Backwoods Players for this award-winning dramatic play of the events that led to this history-altering uprising and how Pickering took part.
Teachers, book your class now!  Tickets on sale August 17 and cost $16.50.

Pickering Museum Village Foundation’s annual fundraising event with music, children’s activities, annual Rubber Duckie Race, and more fun for the whole family. 

Christmas in the Village, Winter in the Woods

Visit with the inhabitants of the pioneer village as they share their holiday customs.  Enjoy Scottish Hogmanay, Welsh traditions, Victorian English Christmas celebrations, Squire Jonathan’s Christmas Ball, and a walk in the woods to see how Pickering’s first settlers struggled in the wilderness.   Backwoods Players presents “A Duffins Creek Sunday School Pageant” free with admission.
