Students interested in working either
March Break or the summer with the City of Pickering are encouraged
to visit this website in November for updated information on when
and how to apply. Students are requested to apply once an official
advertisement has been made in the News Advertiser and
cityofpickering.com to ensure the minimum requirements for each
position are acquired.

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be
considered for employment in these positions:
- Must be currently enrolled as well
as returning to full-time attendance at school in the fall to be
eligible.
- Must have attained the age of 16.
- Must be residents of the City of
Pickering (or their parents/guardians)*
- Only candidates with current
certification in Standard First Aid (issued within 2 years) and
Basic Rescuer CPR-C (issued within 1 year) will be considered
for an interview for Camp and Museum positions (no exceptions).
- Must be willing to undergo a
Criminal Reference check as a condition of employment.
- Must be willing to attend various
mandatory training sessions.
- Must be willing to work on
weekends and holidays as required.
- Must possess a valid Ontario Class
"G" driver's license. A clean driving record is
preferred**
* Non-residents of Pickering will be
considered if there are no suitable candidates from the City.
** Applicable to Student Labourers only.
Please note Student Labourers are
not required to obtain a Criminal Reference Check or have current
First Aid or CPR certifications.
