Municipal Operations offers a variety
of public services from the Operations Centre, including the following:
Road Occupancy
Permits
A road occupancy permit is required if you are planning any works on
City property, including your boulevard. There is a $25 fee for the
permit. Call 905.420.4660, ext. 5294 for more information.
Driveway Entrance
Applications
The City of Pickering is responsible for installing all driveway
entrances within our municipality. You are asked to mark your
driveway entrance with wooden stakes. Municipal Operations
will then inspect your property and determine the cost. Work
will begin upon full payment by the property owner. Please
call 905.420.4660, ext. 5294 to find out more.
Curb Cutting
Applications
Municipal Operations will cut
the curb in front of your property for the purpose of widening your
driveway. After you mark your proposed driveway entrance with spray
paint, an inspector will visit your property and determine the cost.
Work will begin upon full payment by the property owner. Please call

Park / Sport Field
Bookings
Municipal Operations is
committed to ensuring residents enjoy safe and accessible
recreational opportunities at each of our 78 natural and community
parks. Pickering is home to more than 20 organized outdoor sports
clubs. Every organized sports or social event planned at a
park or sports field must be booked through our Municipal Property
& Engineering Division. To find out more, or to obtain a

Memorial Tree
Planting and Park Bench Plaques
The City of Pickering offers
dedication programs for those who wish to donate a tree or park
bench in recognition of a special occasion or a person of
significance to them. For applications, please contact the
Municipal Property & Engineering Division at 905.420.4660, ext.
5243.
Fill Applications
Municipal Operations may be
able to supply you with clean fill at no cost, depending on the time
of year and projects currently underway. If you need more than
20 cubic yards of fill, you must obtain a permit, available from the
Planning & Development Department at the Pickering Civic Complex
at One The Esplanade. Call 905.420.4660, ext. 5243 for more
information.
Boulevard Repair
Winter operations can
sometimes result in damage to boulevards. If the sod on your
boulevard has been damaged by a snowplow, please contact us at
905.420.4660, ext. 5294 and we will repair the damage.
Boulevard Trees
If your boulevard tree has
died or needs attention or if you would like to have a boulevard
tree planted, please call us at 905.420.4660, ext. 5294.
Municipal
Gate Application
The City of Pickering
requires any homeowner who is considering the installation of a gate
in a fence separating their property from the adjacent municipal
parklands and/or open spaces, must make application to the Municipal
Property & Engineering Division for a Municipal Gate Permit.
There is no charge for this permit. For a permit application or for
more information, please contact the Municipal Property &
