Speed Limits

The Council of the City of Pickering passed a resolution at the Council Meeting of September 15, 2003 to lower the speed limit on local and collector roads that are under the jurisdiction of City of Pickering from 50 km/h to 40 km/h. However, the speed limits on roads under Provincial and Regional jurisdiction will be unchanged, as will speed limits on City arterial roads.

City staff are in the process of installing speed limit signs on all roads that are prescribed a rate of speed of 40 km/h in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act and the regulations.
